Update: I come in defense of an old timer photographer who eventually turned out to be a friend. Yes, internet provided us with a great platform to write our reviews. These blogs and forums have given us numerous help in our everyday transactions. It records everything, including reviews written with ill-motives and twisted facts. Sadly, it has no capacity of filtering these spammers out.
I tried to post a reply at the FemaleNetwork thread but the moderators kept deleting them. As if the mob has connived against Eros Astillero to prevent him from reacting. It’s okay, I hold no grudge against the website nor its moderators. Internet is a free space so I will speak my piece too.
I am questioning the claims of appledapple1, a year after she started the thread. First, look at the list of threads she has replied to. Not a single post was made with compliment. A normal reviewer would say the good and the bad in every service or product being reviewed. Everything she wrote on FemaleNetwork was in a negative light. Why? Was she really that “bridezilla” or she was a just a disgruntled supplier who felt the need to destroy other businesses for her own advantage?
What would make her so angry at Eros to write something online? She was not the bride. She was not the family of the bride. How come she was able to relay what happened in the wedding if indeed she was ONLY a guest? Do guests bother themselves with these detail if they were happy mingling around to see friends?
It was a no-brainer that she was working behind the scenes of the wedding that day. Could she be coordinator of that particular ceremony? Was her ego touched when Eros was able to take a shot of the bride and groom in the hotel lobby, despite her inability to secure permits or pay the fees?
Was she a self-centered coordinator who wanted to be the “bida” of the ceremony? Someone who wanted to be noticed by the crowd more than the bride and groom? Someone who wanted to cover her mistakes in the ceremony so she began hurling insulting remarks to the studio? And probably felt bad when Eros put her in the right place of not meddling with the photographs? She was a coordinator. Not the photographer. She should know which areas to nag other suppliers about, right?
Second, not a single Eros Xerxes Photography staff messaged her privately. There was no need to do that as SHE WAS NOT an Eros customer/client in the first place. Eros only listens to clients. Eros Xerxes Photography directly transacted with the brides and the grooms. The rules were explained one by one in the contract of services. Eros Photography carefully adheres to the contract and ONLY to the contract.
For the record, Eros Xerxes Astillero or Eros Photography has never been sued by its clients. If indeed Eros shouted at the family of the couple, it was easy for the couple to sue Mr. Astillero for public humiliation. The studio does not have any pending court case. You can check that with DOJ if you wish.
Eros had high respects for its clients. Eros Xerxes Photography perfected weddings, and no other incompetent suppliers could go in a way. Eros Astillero was being paid to deliver quality photos, and that’s what he did. After each wedding, flowers will fade, coordinators will be forgotten. But photos and videos were the only things left to prove the ceremony went well.
It was the policy of the studio not to engage in debates – online or offline – with people who hide themselves in anonymity.
Lastly, I send my kuddos to everyone who defended the studio. Yes, there were many Eros brides who also hold prominent blogs online. It was never surprising for them to defend Eros even to this day.
Eros brides were beautiful, they were smart, they stood for what they believed in. Eros photography was honored to serve these kinds of clients (December 2012).
